Audio Physic

Building on the design philosophies and success of the Spark 4, Tempo 4, and Avanti, the new Scorpio loudspeaker ($6,494 per pair) was designed to bridge the price gap between the Tempo and Avanti. As with the other three models, the 7^o back tilt equalizes any phase differences between the tweeter and midrange and gives the slim cabinet a stunning look. The four woofers are mounted back-to-back on either side of the cabinet in a push-push configuration that minimizes cabinet vibrations. This is because the interfering vibrations transmitted from the woofers to the cabinet effectively cancel each other out since each cone moves in an opposite direction from the other. The total bass output from these four woofers is deep, clean, and powerful. This new loudspeaker is so exceptional that its sound rivals the much more expensive Avanti. It has all the hallmarks of an Audio Physic design. The imaging is spacious and incredibly open, detail is finely-filigreed with no excess brightness or sizzle, and the balance is natural and uncolored. For those who want to combine their music and home theater systems, Audio Physic has the appropriate matching models for a 5.1 or 7.1 surround system. The Scorpio is, indeed, a worthy successor to the venerable Virgo, a loudspeaker which helped build the Audio Physic reputation for excellence.
