Our demo Vandersteen Quatros have arrived. After breaking them in, we equalized the bass to be flat in our room using the unique Vandersteen bass equalizer that's built into the Quatros and then started listening. We've been waiting a long time for this new model, and we weren't disappointed. The sound is smooth, detailed, clear, spacious, and completely lacking in the resonant colorations that ruin the sound of so many other speakers. Couple this with the phase coherent, time aligned sound field and the deep, extended bass, and you have a loudspeaker that was well worth waiting for. In fact, we'd be hard pressed to name a single loudspeaker anywhere near the price of the Quatro which could begin to compete with its top-to-bottom performance. And, the only one which comes to mind that can beat it is the Vandersteen 5A at over twice the price of the Quatro.

This is a very special loudspeaker, designed for those who want truth and realism in their music reproduction, not a trendy, flashy manufactured sound.
