Sonus faber

Sonus faber has just introduced an entirely new line call Liuto. These gorgeous loudspeakers were inspired by the famous Cremona line and are intended to bring a startling percentage of Cremona performance and cosmetics to a substantially less expensive set of loudspeakers. There are three models, the Liuto Monitor at $2998 per pair, the Liuto Smart at $1698 which can be used either as a center channel or rear loudspeaker, and the Tower at $5998 per pair. The cabinets are lute-shaped in the classic Sonus faber styling and are available in gloss black or in North American cherry and walnut with leather trim.

The fully-shielded, rear-ported enclosure of the Liuto Tower features a 9-inch aluminum/magnesium alloy woofer, a 6-inch polypropylene/textile midrange, and a 1-inch fabric dome tweeter. The Liuto Tower is capable of exceptional openness, extension and dynamics.

Fully embodying the Sonus faber heritage for full-range, compact monitors, the Liuto Monitor features a 2-way, rear-ported design housed within a shielded enclosure. This model incorporates a 6-inch polypropylene/textile midrange/woofer and a 1-inch fabric dome tweeter that exhibits superb transparency, imaging, and a very high power handling capability. The Liuto Monitor is a most formidable small speaker. There is an optional contoured, black wood floor stand at $798 per pair that complements the Liuto Monitor's shape and positions the speaker at the proper listening height. These stands feature a massive base with four spike points that ensure maximum rigidity and immunity from vibration.

The Liuto Smart is a fully-shielded center or rear channel loudspeaker designed to be used horizontally or vertically. The rear-ported, 2-way design features dual 6-inch polypropylene/textile midrange/woofers and a 1-inch coated, fabric dome tweeter. They are voiced and balanced to match the Liuto Tower and Liuto Monitor sonically. This allows for the creation of balanced and coherent multi-channel surround-sound systems. A swivel-type mounting bracket is included for those who wish to wall-mount the Liuto Smart.
