NEW PRODUCTS Audio Research
All of the power amplifiers in the Audio Research line have now been upgraded to "SE" models. These are the REF75SE at $10,000, the REF150SE at $15,000, and the REF250SE mono-blocks at $17,000 each. While the driving force for these upgrades was the change from the KT120 output tube to the superior KT150, that is far from the only change to these models. There is a number of active and passive parts changes in the SE amplifiers that result in dramatic sonic improvements. Advances in purity and lack of grain, resolution, micro- and macro-dynamics, separation and instrumental focus, phase and time coherence, and greatly improved bass weight, authority and control can be readily heard. The new models are superior in virtually every area. The SE versions are already shipping, and owners of the original models can have theirs upgraded to the SE standard.
