Pro-Ject

In addition to all of the new models we introduced in our last newsletter, Pro-Ject has now introduced two new models in their "round" or RPM line, the RPM 1 Carbon at $499 and the RPM 3 Carbon at $899.

All of the features shown below add up to a tremendous level of sonic performance and stylish cosmetics at a very affordable price:

• New ultra-precision DC-driven AC generator motor power
• Low resonance chassis holding a new inverted platter bearing with ceramic ball for the lowest possible rumble
• Platter made from MDF using felt mat
• New 8.6-inch, S-shaped tonearm made from a carbon/aluminum/resin formed under special heat and pressure
• New magnetic antiskating
• New counterweight with TPE polymer damping
• Available in three high-gloss colors (black, red, white)
• Supplied with Sumiko Pearl phono cartridge
• Optional Dust cover available

The RPM 3 Carbon has all of the same advanced features of the RPM 1 but is larger and more massive, improving stability and immunity to external vibrations. It also has a longer, 10-inch tonearm for decreased tracking errors. Finally, it comes with a more advanced phono cartridge, the Sumiko Blue Point No. 2 high-output moving coil. All of these improvements lead to elevated performance at a modestly higher price.
