Sonus faber

In an effort to make their signature sound affordable to even more music lovers, Sonus faber has released a new series of loudspeakers called Principia. There are two bookshelf models, the Principia 1 at $549 and the Principia 3 at $699, two tower models, the Principia 5 at $1199 and the Principia 7 at $1499, and a center channel, the Principia C at $349.

The relationship between the Principia and the Chameleon collections is evident in the many design and technical details they share, particularly the brushed aluminum details and trapezoidal shape. (The Chameleon collection was covered in Volume 18 of this newsletter.) The 29 mm high definition, pre-coated fabric dome tweeter with DKM membrane is inherited from Chameleon, as well, while the Silver polypropylene, injected, flat-surface cone drivers are new Sonus faber designs and are unique to Principia.

In both its shape and name, the Principia collection embodies the idea of a beginning and a foundation which underpin the beginning of a true, high-end audio system for those on a budget. It can fill your listening needs, meeting the requirements of both stereo and multi-channel Home Theater systems in either small or large rooms.
