Sonus faber

All of the Olympica models have been significantly upgraded to the Olympica Nova versions, and a couple of new models have been added. The series includes the Ci and Cii center channels at $5000 and $7000 respectively, the Wall at $4000, the I monitors at $6500, the II floor-standers at $10,000, the III floor-standers at $13,500, and the V floor-standers at $16,500.

Since 1983, many events have stood out in the history of Sonus faber. The launch of the Olympica Collection 6 years ago is one of them. It was one of the first lines presented as a complete family of products and the very first one to feature original drivers, entirely designed by Sonus faber. Olympica Nova is the second generation of the iconic Olympica family and is improved in almost every way. The result is a new collection that embraces the advanced technologies from their most prestigious models.

One thing common to both Olympica collections is their organic shape. The lack of flat and parallel walls improves enclosure performance and maintains the typical asymmetrical Lute shape of first generation Olympica. The asymmetrical shape of the cabinet is an original design concept that allows a more versatile positioning of the loudspeakers to tune the bass response in any room. Inspired by nature, the lines follow the flow of a circular spiral motion, achieving a more organic cabinet structure. No longer just a functional element added to handle airflow, the reflex duct is now fully integrated into the cabinet, further improving the speed and transparency of sound. Here are the main points of improvement in the Nova incarnation:

• The cabinet material went from MDF to a multi-layer, constrained damping composite for reduced cabinet resonances and colorations.
• All drivers and crossovers have been completely redesigned yielding large sonic improvements
• The tops and bottoms are now solid aluminum with wood inserts cut into the aluminum plates. Visually you see wood with aluminum-trim rings at the edges. This bonding of two materials with dissimilar acoustic properties also helps to damp cabinet vibrations.
• The Nova models are easier to place in your room and have better sound stage, imaging, and clarity.
