Sonus faber

Sonus faber has just introduced a contemporary and powerful all-in-one active music system called Omnia at $1999. The system combines innovative acoustic technologies with wood elements that clearly announce this product's origin. The Walnut finish has a traditional and warm appeal while The Graphite finish lends Omnia a refined industrial look.

The Omnia acoustic package features a 4-way, closed-box system with 7 drivers driven by a 490 watt amplifier. On the front, two 0.75-inch silk dome tweeters with Neodymium motor systems and two 3-inch paper cone midrange drivers guarantee the Sonus faber sound signature and deliver life-like micro-dynamics. Low frequencies are reproduced through a 6.5-inch, long-throw, aluminum-cone woofer in a down-firing configuration that creates an immersive sound field with great impact. On both sides of the system, two 1.75-inch wide-range, inverted dome drivers with Neodymium motor systems, enhance the sound field with a greater sense of dimensionality. This is achieved in conjunction with a newly-trademarked technology introduced by Omnia called CRESCENDO. This new technology combines a mix of in-phase, bipolar and anti-phase dipolar sound schemes that redefine the 3D listening experience.

SENSO is Omnia's tactile, illuminated, wooden top panel. This touch sensitive interface allows direct control of the system, with additional remote operation available via the supplied handheld controller or user's smartphone or tablet. The illuminated lines indicate Omnia's mode, which streaming service is in use, and which input is currently selected. It also allows the user to adjust the volume.

Omnia's wide selection of built-in connection options guarantee seamless playback from mobile devices thanks to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Apple Airplay 2 and Chromecast . The intuitive interface allows the users to stream directly with their favorite music service/apps thanks to the implementation of Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Roon. Omnia also offers analog and digital inputs to provide additional connection flexibility. For example, you can enjoy any analog source using the switchable Phono/Line input. There is also an HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) input making it easy to play all of your television sound through Omnia with one direct connection.
