Vandersteen

There have been several versions in the Model 1 series since its introduction in 1983, and they just keep getting better and better. The new Model 1Ci+ eliminates the treble adjustment control of previous versions and features their modern crossover design. This enhances the sound from top to bottom. The results are improved clarity and better midrange-timbre accuracy. This is the 4th version of this iconic speaker and is still available for only $1887 per pair with stands included.

Vandersteen is often asked how they pack so much sonic value into the Model 1. They do this by looking at every detail and making sure that it adds value to the ultimate sound. Being very advanced over the original Model 1 design, the Model 1Ci+ is referenced to the Vandersteen family sound, including the flagship 7 XTRM. Although it's obviously not as revealing, it still stands as a proud and foundational member of the Vandersteen family of products.

The alloy dome tweeter is a dual-chamber design which improves range and linearity. It is carefully damped, eliminating the excessive ringing associated with metal dome tweeters of lesser design. The alloy used for the dome offers superior strength and resistance to break-up. This also increases smoothness and decreases harshness. The midrange uses costly cast-metal baskets rather than the more common and cheaper stamped baskets. The inherent rigidity and superior vibration control of the cast-metal open baskets increase cone movement accuracy and reduce sympathetic resonances for cleaner and more natural sound.

The Model 1Ci+ continues Vandersteen's quest to couple proven technology with advanced materials, construction, and design for a speaker system that is always true to both science and music and does all of that at a very high value price point.
