Rogue Audio has announced the new RP-5 v2 preamplifier at $3395. The new RP-5 v2 borrows world-class award winning technology from the RP-7, RP-9, RH-5 and Triton II. The volume circuitry uses technology from the RP-7 and RP-9 making it quieter and giving it more steps for finer control. The phono stage is directly derived from the circuitry of the Triton II making it the best phono stage ever in a Rogue preamplifier. The headphone circuit borrows from the RH-5, with both improved sound and power it will get the best performance from even the most difficult to drive headphones. Other upgrades include an OLED display for better contrast and an optical rotary encoder for smoother volume knob operation.

The Cronus Magnum 3 tube integrated amplifier is now joined by an upgraded sibling, the Cronus Dark. With an impressive package of upgrades the Cronus Dark reaches a new level of refinement. Dynamics are better and the imaging requires superlatives for an integrated amplifier at any price point. The detail is remarkable and furthers the illusion of a live performance. Improvements include 25% more capacitance in the power supply, upgraded signal tubes, upgraded OP Amps in the phono stage, upgraded binding posts, and upgraded capacitors and resistors in numerous key locations. It sells for $4495.

As long as we're talking about upgraded "Dark" amplifiers, let's look at the new Atlas Dark. Based on the great feedback received for the Cronus Dark, it only made good sense to offer an Atlas Dark. With an impressive package of upgrades the Atlas Dark reaches a new level of refinement. The dynamics and imaging are both improved, and the detail is remarkable and furthers the illusion of a live performance. The Sphinx V3 hybrid integrated amplifier has now been joined by the Sphinx V3 Magnum at $1995.
