NEW PRODUCTS Grado LabsGrado has introduced their 1st wireless headphones, the GW100 at $249. Their new flagship model is the Professional Series PS2000e at $2695.
Grado took their time to get the sound of their first wireless headphones just right and made no compromises in the GW100. Nothing is lost except the wires. Inside the GW100 are none other than their signature Grado drivers. These are the same as the ones they build for their wired headphones and are finely tuned for the different enclosures used in the various headphone models. These first wireless headphones are no different, with drivers configured specifically for them. The sonic capabilities achieved by the GW100 would not be possible without decades of experience in this type of driver design. The GW100 is the world's first open-back, Bluetooth headphone. Their speaker housings and internals have been designed from the ground up and work to diminish escaping sound by up to 60%. There is a design consistency that's seen throughout all of their headphones since they started building them nearly 30 years ago. The GW100 continues this, immediately looking like it's part of the family. These wireless headphones, however, are a milestone in Grado's 65 year history. Notable features include:
The hand-carved maple inner chamber is clad with a new smoked chrome finish for an elegant look. A wider leather head strap with added padding makes for a more comfortable experience. Both are exclusive to the PS2000e. The unexcelled sonic signature of maple wood, first used in the limited edition GH1, contributes to a very neutral response. Then, cladding the wood with metal alloy eliminates ringing and other unwanted distortions. The PS2000e uses a new driver design that also minimizes signal colorations for unobscured detail in your music. To build their finest headphones yet, you can trust that they used only the best parts and materials. From the speaker chassis to the wire, voice coil, and magnets, they researched and selected materials of the highest grade. The diaphragm geometry was redesigned to convey the signal more accurately. Developing the new front cap and grill for this new driver was purposefully aimed at minimizing diffraction of the audio signal coming from this diaphragm. All of this is mounted in the proprietary, wood/metal hybrid housing that gives the driver the best possible support and eliminates distortion and resonance, thus allowing the purest possible signal to reach your ears.
