VPI has released upgraded versions of its three most popular turntables. The Prime Scout has become the Scout 21 at $2850, the Prime is now the Prime 21 at $5000, and the Prime Signature has morphed into the Signature 21 at $8250.

The Scout 21 is essentially the same as a Prime Scout but with a better motor housing and better feet. Using the same platter, chassis, unipivot arm, and internal motor, the Scout 21 adds improved isolation and vibration control with the more robust motor housing and HW-40 feet.

As for the Prime 21, the JMW 10-inch 3D-printed gimbal arm has become standard , replacing the unipivot, the feet have also been upgraded to HW-40 feet, and a sleek top plate has been added for improved bracing and concomitant reduction of chassis resonances.

The Signature 21 has also been changed with the upgraded HW-40 feet. The much more substantial change is that the 3D-printed Fatboy gimbal tonearm is now standard for the Signature 21. These modifications have taken an already-powerhouse table and raised it up to another, much higher level of performance.
